CISCO/Networking

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The Cisco network program deliver the technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in network support services positions in the Information Technology career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general playability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the Information Technology career cluster.  This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment or advanced training in a variety of occupations in the information technology industry. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the information technology industry; technical and product skills, underlying principles of technology , planning, management, finance,  labor issues, community

The content includes but is not limited to instruction in computer literacy; software application support; basic hardware configuration and troubleshooting; networking technologies, troubleshooting, security, and administration; and customer service and human relations skills.
